Access relies on a combination of SQL and VBA programming language, which is an abhorrent combination when you're trying to do anything properly interesting with your data or fix the awkwardnesses of data imported from someone else's crazy database. I've had to do it for work and I was in tears on multiple occasions for the trying.
I had very good success with the TCD Access course, but that's convenient for neither of us these days. :/
