Unfortunately it was a solid "meh". It's written in first person, but from a very detached person. Possibly a valid response to mentally surviving the terror, but it didn't make for a very engaging read. Heretic Queen was better in that way, but the antagonists were a bit cardboard villains regarding motivation.
